"I knew I had to do something about my hearing.  I could no longer hear the night sounds of critters on my evening walks.  I had to ask my wife to repeat herself too often. I missed too many words on the television unless it was turned up quite loud.  At noisy banquets I tried to make out conversation by looking at the speakers lips.  In other words, I needed help and the time had come to get help in the form of hearing aids.

I went to the computer to gain a little knowledge about hearing aid products, how they worked, what they could and could not do, some product comparisions and some shopping advice.

One of the advised manufacturers was "Siemens".  In an excellent infomercial in the "Regina Community News" I discovered "Sounds of Life (Hearing Center)" and they handled the Siemens product.  I called them and was able to talk directly to the Audiologist, Tracey Schick Sparrowhawk.  She made an impression on the phone.  I made a point of making contact.  Even though I intended to see other establishments "Sounds of Life" made the effort to accommodate me on the spot. (italics added)  I was assessed immediately and advised of my tests and the implications for procedding to purchase of the recommended hearing device.

It took a fairly short time to acclimatize to the aids.  All my questions and concerns were addressed in the first follow up.  Tracey's knowledge of the product and her ability to adjust the aids to accommodate my concerns was so appreciated.

I like the professionalism of the staff and their friendly attitude.  I enjoyed their acceptance of my lame humour.

I now hear better, need fewer repititions from family and friends, hear a fuller range in a bird's trill and am now able to look people in the eye and not at their lips in conversation.

The whole experience was very satisfying and I would recommend to anyone considering hearing evaluations that this establishment be high on their priority.  Hopefully they are as pleased as I am".

"Before I got my new hearing devices, the world was a relatively quiet place.  Being an avid hunter and outdoors person, the sounds of birds and animals are refreshing to hear again.  These sounds could only be heard if the wildlife was seen or nearby.  I now realize how much wildlife was passed by because of poor hearing....I'm now a revitalized outdoorsman at age 73.

The most rewarding part of hearing better is the ability to understand voices around me while playing cards, at restaurants, or on coffee row...especially not having to say "what's that" to my wife during a normal conversation.
